FIR Live #13: April 25, 2009
Content Summary: Writing in ReadWriteWeb on April 7, Marshall Kirkpatrick provided the framework for this FIR Live discussion to address a thorny question: Is social media monitoring critical or creepy?
Our discussion explored many aspects of the increasingly-popular business activity of monitoring social media for references and mentions of you, your brand, your company, or any other topic you’re paying attention to. How does the human, conversational and informal nature of much social media – notably, Twitter – gel with a business need to rapidly acquire information that connects with other monitoring activity such as with automated CRM systems?
Discussion participants were FIR co-hosts Neville Hobson and Shel Holtz; Chip Griffin, CEO of CustomScoop (disclosure: a sponsor of The Hobson and Holtz report); and Aaron Weber, Insight Manager at Spiral16; plus callers-in and listeners in conversation in the FIR Live chat room at BlogTalk Radio.
Additional perspective on the discussion: conversation and questions (plain-text file, opens in new tab/window) from the FIR chat room at Blogtalk Radio.
