Influencers use RSS
RSS took a hit early this month when Forrester released research results that showed only about 2% of Americans use RSS. How important can it be? Today, however, Nooked released results of its own survey focusing on key influencers—journalists, analysts, and bloggers—showing that RSS usage in this group is a whopping 87%, with 92% aware of RSS. The results are probably somewhat skewed since 45% of survey participants were bloggers, who are among the most RSS-aware; 25% were journalists, 15% were analysts, and the final 15% were “interested parties.”
Still, the study determined that “Journalists and Analysts have moved beyond the ‘RSS for beginners’ stage and now demand information be delivered to them through a clean channel, in a specified location with specialist content.”
