Is MOMA podcasting?

Steve Rubel posted an item last week applauding the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) for podcasting. I visited the site and couldn’t find an RSS feed, so I left Steve a comment asserting that it’s not a podcast; it’s just downloadable audio. Steve replied, “Shel, not so. I can subscribe via iTunes.”

So I went back to the MOMA site and scoured it for any reference to the iTunes listing. There’s nothing there. So, here’s what you’ve got with MOMA. If you happen to look through the iTunes directory, you can find the MOMA audio files, but if you visit the MOMA site (which never uses the word “podcast” itself), you can’t. And if you’re one of the many, many people who don’t use iTunes but continue to use some other podcatcher, like iPodder, you’re also hosed. And there is still no RSS feed on the site. So I stand by my guns: It’s not really a podcast.
